Exhibit Building Entries Entries for the Exhibit Building must be in place between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31. If you will have several exhibits, you can call the WVU-Braxton County Extension Office at 304-765-2809 to request entry tags to complete in advance. Work must never have been exhibited in this fair before. Entries are limited to two entries per class per exhibitor. All exhibits will be judged Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Judging is closed to the public. All exhibits must be picked up on Monday, August 7 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Exhibits may also be picked up on Saturday, August 5 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (no free admission granted to pick up exhibits). Exhibits not picked up during specified hours will forfeit any premium money. Every article or animal entered for competition shall be under the control of the Board of Directors. The association will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. No premium or award will be given on any article not listed in this premium catalog. If the number of exhibits exceeds the amount of money allocated, then the premium money for each award will be lowered or eliminated. The Braxton County Fair reserves the right to dispose of spoiled exhibits (mold, rotting vegetables, etc.) If premium checks are not cashed within 60 days, premiums will be forfeited by that exhibitor for the next year in which exhibits are entered. One Best of Show, with a $25 premium will be awarded for open class and 4-H or FFA exhibits. A complete list of classes is available: 2023 Braxton County Fair Exhibit Information

Please note: Because of the number of 4-H/FFA sheep, goat and swine projects, pens may not be available for open show sheep and goat exhibitors. After check-in with WVDA and show management, you will be permitted to keep your animals in your trailer. You can also provide your own pens.


Chips for initial bedding will be provided. Additional bedding will be the responsibility of the exhibitor. Classes may be added, changed or deleted as needed by the show management. Entries are limited to two entries per class per exhibitor (per Exhibit Information for Braxton County Fair). I. Premiums are not paid on any championship classes. Open Show Classes are open to all exhibitors who meet animal requirements. Market Classes and Special Classes are open only to Braxton County 4-H and FFA members. Exhibitors not cashing their premium checks within 60 days of issue will not be eligible to receive a premium the following year. All livestock must meet the current WV Dept. of Agriculture health requirements. Livestock that exhibit signs of illness or infectious disease shall not be exhibited.
